Am I small? and more Fat mentality issues....

Recommended Posts

I totally get this and those feelings .... my mom told me I look "sunken in" and "anorexic" ... really?!

Don't know how you go from 359 to anorexic ... but whatever. ( she's one of those that doesn't "get it" )

I feel amazing! I too am shocked at the sizes I can wear now ... even though in my mind I'm still huge...

and people are starting at me still because I'm huge ... not because I might actually be "cute" :)

I literally broke down in tears yesterday cuz so many people at work told me I was too skinny. One girl even said I look sickly. Sickly!! I'm 148lbs at 5'3. That's not even close to skinny. I have no idea cuz i have "fat brain" like Karen said. I had to call my dad over just to tell me if I looked sick or not. [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

i went to target this weekend. picked a medium dress and extra small sweater off the rack. i wasn't looking for xs by the way but all they had was xs or xxl lol. i went to the dressing room and saw myself full length in the mirror and thought holy ****. i think i'm small. am i small? on the daily i feel just like i always felt. like i feel better but still fat. could it be that im not perceived as fat anymore? why is it so important? how do we switch over from "fat mentality" to what's real? to what's actually happening with our bodies right now? am i still viewed as "fat" by society? am i normal now? is a size 8/10 still fat? how will i know when to stop? all the questions you didn't realize would linger so long.....

I have the same feelings, I still feel just as fat as I was before. I know I am now a size 12 compared to a 30/32, I know I am thinner, but I certainly don't feel it. post-262002-14654214300415_thumb.jpg and I still get the "don't stop losing weight, keep it up" and wow you look great, are you gonna have plastics?? I realize it may not be said with malicious intent but it honestly makes me feel as if I'm not good enough yet! Guess it's therapy time!!!

Yes I'm waiting on approval for my plastics... hopefully my insurance will cover some of it... according to my drs... after the skin Removal I will probably be underweight. I'm just having my arms and stomach done but I have at least 25- 30lbs of skin...if I do it today (I'm not) tht would put me weighing 99/100lbs.... smh

@@KristenLe well i already lost my ass. so there's that lol. but im trying to get it back. i still feel big to b honest with you. i don't know when that goes away

My bottom is flat as a tack. I just bought some tummy flattening, bottom shaping undies on eBay. They have a padded bottom area. I look awesome in jeans now, but I feel like I am wearing an incontinence aid

I am in a size XS/S and still feel fat too, especially around my tummy. But every kilo I lose seems to come off my legs and chest. I look really scrawny around my collar bones.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
