I'm out. Surgery went well! I'm not in any pain except a tiny bit of gas pain but nothing too bad. The nurses are saying I'm a very easy patient. I haven't used my morphine at all. The nurse pressed it when she woke me up but after that, nothing.

I hope it went this easy for everyone! Let me know! I'm so happy to be sitting on the losers bench! Who else is with me?!

Ahhhhhhhh so happy!! I'm in quite a bit of pain but it's worth it!! I had to drink some Water mixed with my crushed Vitamin. I took on sip after and I threw up. It was so painful but I guess that means it worked!

Ugh, that's the worst. I dry heaved a bit before they even gave me liquids. That was unbelievably painful. They had to give me zofran for nausea. Welcome to the post op side... So Happy it's done and everything is ok.

So, my tiny bit of gas was so bad that I decided to take a walk against the nurses advice. She was very surprised how well it went. I managed to burp a little but I still have a little gas again. I'm scared it's going to get bad like earlier. I took a 2 hour nap and I feel better. So I'm finally going to try to eat. I've only been having ice chips. Right now I have a male nurse. He just got here, so I'm not as comfortable as before. But all in all... i feel fantastic. I haven't used morphine at all. My tap is still new.

How is everyone else doing?!

Oh and I haven't thrown up..... YET!

I am doing good all things considered. They gave me so much nasia meds so I am good. I was able to get up and walk half the floor! Having a hard time going pee! I have a nurse that had the same surgery so it is helpful. I do have some gas pain but it is not unbearable. I can't drink anything until tomorrow.

I did the same thing with the morphine... I keep waking up too..

I'm not used to gas pain. It really sucks. Go around and walk, they say... but it doesn't help. Sigh.. i walked for 15 mins and nothing.

Other than that, i feel great.

Good morning!!! I'm glad you will be able to stay one more night. @@Peach55 Nothing like a nurse's help. Remember not to drink so fast. Take tiny sips.. i haven't thrown up at all because the tiny "infant" sips.

My hope is, my doctor tells me to stay one more night as well.. I haven't really gotten liquids in. I think yesterday, at most, I drank 8 oz. This includes a few small spoons of Jello. I wonder if I can request for my incisions to be cleaned and re-bandaged. I'll ask later.

Maybe everyone else is in too much pain to follow-up. Awww.. i how you all are doing well.

So I ordered beef broth. And it stinked up my room so good! My surgeon just happened to walk in. Before opening my curtain he said "It smells like McDonald's in here!" I started laughing and said, "Noooo! It's just a little beef broth" he thought someone was in here torturing me. To be honest, I don't have much of an appetite. I just wanted something warm on my throat that is still scratchy from the breathing tube. I'll be discharged at 6pm today. He said I made surgery very easy for him and he thanked me. My surgery weight was 230. I'm too scared to weigh myself today. Where is everyone? I can't be the only one who is excited.. We're on our way to skinny-ness!! lol

I've also been walking 10 minutes every hour.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
