Rumbly tummy and headache

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 2 days ago on 5/10. I came home yesterday and have generally been doing pretty well. I'm halfway to my Protein and Water goals so far today. My only complaints are this EXTREMELY noisy tummy and a headache. Im assuming the tummy noise is mostly gas and I'm relieved to not be in any pain but any idea of when I can expect things to settle down? How about the headache? Did anyone else have that?

Do you have an acid reducer to take? That may help. The headache is probably either a reaction to anesthesia or more likely a little dehydration if you're not able to get enough fluids. I would think it'll get better once you're able to drink more. Good luck!

Mine grumbles like an old man with an entire school on his lawn. Everything I ingest causes burps.

Meh.

On the headache, I get those when I haven't been drinking enough.

Your intestines have to wake up from all the narcotics. When they are all out your system and your intestines can function normally it will stop. If you are on pain meds, it won't stop until you after you stop them.

Your headache could be like mine from low oxygen, I am 3 days out 5/10 I have been working hard at getting my breather stronger. Walk more and use the breathing thing they gave you in the hospital.

After two days of noting when the headaches come and go, I'm pretty sure it's a side effect of the oxycodone. I'm going to try weaning off those for both my bowels and my head's sake.

I'm pretty sure I could start a sound effects studio with the noises generated by my belly these days. :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
