I didn't lose a ton, about 70 lbs in 2 years, but after I lost about 50, my body started hurting. I assumed it was from exercising. Turns out I have arthritis in my bones. Knees and some in back and I'm guessing all over, but haven't been tested elsewhere. I exercise daily and I a, finding I'm having hip pain and some knee and back pain. After you lose weight, did anyone else's body just kinda go crazy like this? I feel like I woke a beast inside of me and although Im thrilled with the weight loss, I can't help but wonder why after losing weight, I feel worse than I did when I was heavy. Did anyone else go through so,etching similar?

Do you know if it's related to the weight loss? I have lots of joint problems but they were there before I got banded. I've lost around 140 lbs. and even with hip replacement surgery, I have joint disease, arthritis, and inflammatory disease. That means I have chronic pain which is controlled by medication but everything I take has side effects.

Per my doctors, had I not had WLS, I'd have been in a wheelchair and likely totally immobile. I can't imagine anything worse than being immobile when you don't have to be. Hope this is just a bump in the road for you and not permanent. Keep us posted!

If you didn't have WLS, those 70 pounds would put much more force on your joints, making your pain worse. All the more reason to keep losing weight.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
