I loved eating lemons peel and all.

Is this still ok to do. And aftet how long. I'm only 4 weeks out so I won't attempt now, but thinking in near future.

I do! I'm 4 months out and sometimes when I feel bloated I'll eat lemon. Just do it in moderation because that much acid will upset your new stomach! :) Or at least I found out it pisses off mine ;-)

But what about the peel? And a little salt?

at 4 weeks I was cleared to eat whatever sits well with my tummy. Protein first, veg, fruits. I have had part of an orange without any problems at all. There's not much room left when I get to the fruit part

I would think the pulp and peel would be bad too early out. I was told to not eat skins of fruits or anything fibrous for 3 months post-op.

I tried drinking Water with a whisper of lemon in it, but it gives me acid. I love homemade lemonade, even though I use artificial sweetener, but I can't have more than a sip without getting acid. Bummer.

Try some lemon juice in your Water and take it from there. Also make sure you are getting enough Vitamin C. You're craving could be caused by Vitamin deficiency. You might also want to try "true lemon" in your water. You can get it on Amazon. Unlike artificial crystal light it's real crystallized lemon with a touch of stevia for sweetness. Good luck!

There is nothing wrong with the fact that you like to eat lemon, the main thing in this matter is to know the measure, because citric acid in large quantities can harm your body. However, I would recommend replacing lemon with herbs and tinctures, they do not contain acids and they are harmless to the body, but on the contrary are useful. For example, I have been eating healthy herbs for three months, after which my health has improved. I decided to compare lemon and herbs and herbs on in my comparison, as I found out later in the blog http://jordibhealthandfitness.com herbs can promote good digestion and improve blood circulation in the body. I think herbs are just a universal thing. However, the most important thing is to use and process them correctly. Think about using herbs for food and just eat them when you want to eat something.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
