Band to bypass approved

Recommended Posts

Hey all!

I was banded Dec 2010 and lost 160lb (350-190) making it to my goal weight ( I'm 6'1.5"). Had to have my band removed in Feb of 2015 and the surgeon who took it out said he wouldn't qualify me for a sleeve because he didn't think I needed it. Well a year and a lot of stressors later I gain almost 79lbs back and my new surgeon has approved me for a bypass due to reflux and my shown propensity to regain the weight. I have an upper GI (May 6th) and a sleep study (April 23) to do and I will know my surgery date! I am so nervous but finally ready to have something permanent to help me with the life I deserve for me and my family. Can't wait to share my continued journey with you all and read about your journey in the process

I had a slip from my pregnancy that didn't fully resolve itself on its own. I ended up with horrible heartburn and pain everything I ate or drank something

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
