Despite my scale going up by three pounds this week, today my regular pants wouldn't stay up. I put on jeans that were too small when I bought them three years ago. From a 26w presurgery to 22 (with a small waist) a little over 2 weeks post op.

Embrassing the stall.

@@csawesome - the NSVs are THE best in my book.

I love the scale moving, because I am a scale junkie, but I REALLY love the NSVs!

Did you measure yourself? A lot do, I didn't, but I do have a pair of shorts that I was wearing that were tight pre-WLS.

I notice I don't drop weight and inches at the same time. If I drop inches my weight stalls. When i am losing weight, I don't seem to lose many inches.

Bodies are amazing things.

I should start measurements. I didn't.

I thought I would be super cool and not worry about scale, or measurements, just trust and stick to the program. Then I remembered I am a type A and broke down and weighed myself yesterday. *Of course as soon as I saw increase and remembered why I didn't want to weigh myself to begin with.

@@csawesome don't let the scale rule you.

Make a mental note, think about what you did, or didn't eat the last couple of days (did I eat a lot of salt filled food, get my Protein in, did I make good food choices). And move on~

What is on the scale TODAY can be from what you ate a couple of days ago. pizza tends to add a few lbs for me. I rarely eat it and NOW its thin crust but it does stall the scale. So does Pork rinds, nuts, cheese, pre-packaged deli thin lunchmeat...

I had three NSV last week. A shirt I ordered deliberately too small fit, my work clothes are too large now and don't need safety pins to hold the shirt closed, and my jeans that I'd bought 2 years ago and barely fit then, now require a belt. I'd thought after being sleeved 3/1 that I'd be further than 37 lbs down (especially after losing 28 the first week)... But these NSV's are keeping me going for now.

I had my surgery on 3/17. I have not seen a change whatsoever. I'm feeling very discouraged. I am a scale junkie and every time I get on it it stays the same. I've been walking ALOT and I'm trying to get my Protein in. Can anyone relate or is it just me? In trying not to let depression kick in. Please any advice is welcomed.

I know my 3-week stall started before week 3 and it's coming off slowly...

@@Shellwash have you talked with your surgeon? There is no way that you should be a month post op and not have lost anything. I would check with your surgeon for suggestions as to what is happening.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
