Recommended Posts

I have lost roughly 23 pounds since 10/19 the date of my banding.... I am able to eat roughly two Plus cups of food at a time. My six week fill date is 11/30 and I want to know from all of you experienced bandsters should I keep that appointment? Is it too soon? It is six weeks what I was told .... I Can eat alot more than I had but I am still losing about one -two pounds in the last few weeks ..... Please let me know.......

Check out this site, it will help you determine if you need a fill or not. I go by my weekly weight loss..if I have not lost weight in 3 consecutive weeks and I know I'm making good food choices, drinking all my Water..then possibly I would schedule a fill.

Most of the time for me ..low weight loss is bad food choices and not drinking all my water..I try and stay real honest with myself and ask myself ..do I need my band adjusted or do I need my head and attitude adjusted..it is usually my head and attitude that I adjust. I have had 2 fills and do not plan on having one anytime soon..I got this fill in August and I have lost weight every single week since..I have good restriction..I have been losing 1-3 lbs a week since being banded... Good Luck :D

Hi, Kelly Ann, how about tracking your daily food intake on http://fitday.com for a few days? This will give you a good idea of what types of food, calories, how much exercise, etc. you're doing. Congratulations! Losing 23 pounds in one month is great!

Kelly Ann, I was banded on 10/21 and have my first fill on the same day 11/30. I am going to have it just because my weight loss have slowed down to about nothing ( no weight lose in 2 weeks) and I feel like I can eat too much. I eat about the same amount as you, which is WAY less then I used to eat. But I have to wait one more week before I can start exercising, I know with a fill and exercise I will be able to start losing again. I also need to do and MIchelle stated and start making sure that I make good food choices. I have been in to some chocolate this last week. Bad Bad girl. PMS what can you do??

good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
