My doc said I could use unsweetened almond milk instead of Water with the shakes. And I have been drinking Isopure Water. 40gm Protein and it counts as water. It's rough but I am hanging in there. I was drinking broth from chicken noodle Soup yesterday and when I got finished I chewed up the noodles and spit them out just for the sensation. I am pathetic

Hi, I am new here and this is actually my first post.

Kelly, I just wanted to tell you that you are by no means pathetic. There is a very real psychological effect to not eating (read: chewing). And the fact that you chewed but still had the will power to spit it back out it just amazing. I hope you realize that you are an inspiration. No one here is pathetic. We have problems with food, but we are doing something about it!

I know I don't know you, but I am proud of you all the same. Keep it up :)

Figured I'd post an update! Now I'm on day 9 and my surgery is Monday. It does seem easier now, when I don't allow myself to think about it. I've been trying to stay occupied which is challenging because I'm generally a boring person lol. I am surviving though and in the beginning I didn't know if I could make it through the 2 weeks. I'm almost there! 41 shakes down, 29 to go!

I am on day 5 of 10. It's really hard. Right now I am sitting in my den eating a crystal light slushy and my family is eating BoJangles. I hate my life now. But I am just powering through. If I didn't have yal I would be screwed

I completely understand. Yesterday I was with a friend and she bought herself and her daughter some Popeyes chicken. It smelled so good and my mouth was literally watering. Not eating a single bite of food for 9 days will do that to you I guess lol. I couldn't wait to get out of the car and away from the smell. It was truly torture.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
