My highest weight was 401, so I just qualify for this thread! I am 2+ days post sleeve and so far no complications. The first 48hrs were ROUGH but then suddenly the clouds parted and I feel great!

I found this thread a motivation, so I figured I would add to it now that I'm officially post-sleeve.

I started off at 406 during my initial consult back in June. My insurance required a 6 month diet program, in which I lost 88lbs pre-op. My official surgery weight was 318 on 12/11/17, and as of this morning, I'm at 313.8.

Almost to TWOderland!!!

I’m liking all the comments on this thread! I started my weight loss off at 6’6” 485 pounds. At dr 1st consult I was 435. Gained back 10 lbs but will have it off long before my 6 week pre op Appt in January. Surgery for feb 14 17. It does take the edge off a bit reading where you guys have been threw all of it. Thanks

I started my whole weight loss journey @ 585 lbs was my heaviest at the time of surgery I was @ 521 lbs which was almost 9 months from my heaviest to surgery it took my doctor telling me that within 5 years if nothing changed I would be dead of either heart attack or just my body shutting down. At that point it lit a fire in my soul and under my ass to make things right I started reading and studying everything about my upcoming surgery and weight loss. It was difficult at first but once the weight started coming off it became easier so far after 7 months I am down 150 lbs and can’t wait for it to get even more

It's quite often the case, eh?

Hard truth from our family doctors or GPs that finally makes us sit up and take notice ... most often after half-hearted motivation to change and oodles or procrastination.

Good luck from here on!

Hearing the hard truth from my doctors is what set me on this path. My doctors were gentle but firm and really did not want to see me die of a heart attack or become impaired by a stroke. It's nice that they're firmly in my corner and care. My family has been mostly supportive, my father notwithstanding. But his lack of support really is a non-issue.

I am now at 435 and loving the difference.

Just weighed in today at the exercise physiologist's room at the gym ... registered 130.9 kg (or 384.93 pounds). That's 43.7 kg (or 96.3 pounds) down from 174.6 kg (or 288.58 pounds) on July 17 last year.

So, on today, the six month anniversary of my sleeve surgery, Thursday 12th October 2017 to Thursday 12th April 2018, I am very likely to pass the 100 pounds off milestone in the next 7 to 10 days.

Awesome work, Alchemist!

I started at 405 in June last year and am down to 251 this morning. Surgery was 12/11/17 but I had lost 88lbs pre-surg with changing habits before I got the sleeve. It's crazy how quickly this has gone!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
