I am 6 days post op. I am on clear liquids until tuesday.. I have been getting severe hunger pangs and I'm wondering if those seem to go away once you get on the full liquids? obviously anyone would be hungry on clear liquids, no matter how big the stomach is .. please let me know!

It's normal. I was hungry too and I was scared he didn't make my stomach small enough. I today just had this weird hunger phase.

I was allowed to go to full liquids on day 3 post op. I had my op on 3/28 It's necessary to get the Protein and fluids in. Not sure why he still has you on clear liquids. I think you should ask!

i have zero Protein right now, unless u count chicken broth. they said that it's to give my stomach time to heal. it's pretty brutal. I feel bad for @CRAIGMARTINEZ who has 2 weeks of this. I didn't get Isopure, and wasn't advised to. however, I only have 1 more day.

So the question is, does it get better on full liquids or will I still be hungry until real food is introduced?

When I had my band done, I was also on 2 weeks of clear liquids. It really is brutal, and feels like torture! My md this time around let's us go full liquids once we are home. It's completely normal and understandable to have hungar pangs, and total head hungar when you are restricted to clears. Hoping these 2 weeks pass quickly for you!

Once on full liquids - per my. NUT- I was able to add puddings, yogurt and hot cereals. I mix 1/4 c of Greek yogurt with 1/4 c of cream of wheat Cereal. This combo really seems to do the trick. As an aside, I left the " regular' Cream of Wheat and moved to the baby wheat cereal. It's much easier to make a small batch with and a smoother consistency.

I did a lot of reading before surgery and read so much about how if you're hungry then it's probably just head hunger or acid.. Nope. I was truly HUNGRY. At 17 weeks post op the hunger comes on fast and I feel like I'm starving, but the difference is it takes SO MUCH LESS to satisfy me now. I'm not one of the lucky ones that got to experience the "I'm just not hungry" phase, but with tracking my calories I'm right where I'm supposed to be so if I'm hungry I just eat.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
