2nd fill and UGHHH!

Recommended Posts

I got banded in 2013. Had one fill 6 months in. 5cc's. It was fine for a while but now I've started to gain weight. Had another fill yesterday for the 1st time in 3 years and OMG I cant even keep Water down!! I will try to make an appt with my dr for tmrw but the appointments are always weeks away. Please advise. Is this normal?? Im so thirsty just want a glass of Water but even sips are unconfortable UGGGH!!

No it's not. Did you consume only liquids or soupy foods the last 24 hours. Just wondering if you at anything solid that might have caused a stuck episode? You can cause some swelling with stuck episodes.

If you followed the rules then you should get back in asap so you don't get dehydrated. Good luck.

Hi I havent had anything but liquids since yesterday post fill. Nothing stays down. It comes back up. Havent eaten anything at all. Im going to suck on ice this evening then call the dr tmrw for unfill. This feels wrong.

I like the idea of using ice. Cold can reduce swelling. That's why we ice our sprained ankles and knees.

Sounds to me like the fill was significant (over 2 mls...?) and that could be too much for your lovely body to adjust to in one sitting. If you can't keep anything doesn't, even liquids, you need to have Fluid out, I think. Keep us posted - we are with you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
