@finallyfree....I would kill for a salad. My 2 week preop diet is low carb liquids only! I had an appt this morning with the surgeon and the nurse told me I could have 1 dill pickle spear/day. Woohoo! Something to crunch! Tomorrow I go for preop bloodwork and meet anesthesia. One week from today our lives will be changing for the better!

I just have to say that today I want to eat something real bad!!! On day 5 of liquid only preop diet, surgery is Thursday. As I'm getting ready to cook dinner for my family I want to sneak a taste. And my body feels real weak today at least I know I only have 2 more days after this. Surgery is on the 31st and I know I'll be all liquids after that but I am hoping it will be a little easier considering the sleeve will be helping me.

Thanks Monie. I haven't given in to any of the temptations yet! And I know I want to do everything I can to prepare for a successful surgery. But it is hard. I've spent the last two hours trying to talk myself into the Protein Drink, just not super fond of them. But I know I have to do I will and you are right the reward is worth it!

I dont know how you people do it with family to cook for. I have dietician appointme t on thursday so need to keep to the plan now. Only last night i stopped to think what life will be like a year post op or even 6mths post op. I have spent months trying to find out every single thing that could go wrong pre and post op but hadnt stopped to consider the positives of life after. How weird is that? I am not sure that it is real to me yet. This time next week, wow, still in hospital but all over. I'll ne thinking of you Monie.

I know how you are feeling. It is mind over matter, keep yourself busy. As long as you have enough Protein you will be fine. If you need support jump online. I had to do 2 wks of limited liquids.

Day 5 here. Surgery is 4/4. Super sick of everything being sweet. My hubby was wonderful and went to the local hibachi place to get me some of that clear onion broth they bring you before your meal. It was amazing and saved the day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
