Water/Protein is a full time job

Recommended Posts

Hi yall, I'm having the issue with not getting my Protein. I am 5 days post op. I loved the Premier Protein before my sleeve, but now they make me feel sick. I went and bought Isopure today, the unflavored and it's smell alone will make you want to puke. I have no problem with drinking Water, eating sugar free Popsicles, and Jello. Im so ready for soft foods, then I wouldn't have issues with not getting my Protein. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I was the same. I liked Premier Protein before the surgery then couldn't stomach it. I ended up having to do a lot of milk although I didn't meet my goals, but I was trying. I wish I had known about protein Water when I was right out.

@@kaitlynm When you mix the syntax up, does it end up all frothy and nasty (in my opinion!) like the other Protein options, or does it end up more like a flavored Water (similar to isopure)? Thanks.

I still found it to be frothy. I suppose I could have let it settle for a few hours, but the whey flavor just drove me away from it. I'm sticking to powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, now. None of that weird taste.

I mix it up and then let it set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. The froth all goes away then. I like it really cold as well (I now like my Water that way also). I don't taste the Protein Powder taste in it. I just taste flavored water. It does stay mixed in the refrigerator so no need to reshake it.

Hello, I use "Isopure zero carb" (creamy vanilla) and mix it with cold 1% milk. Two scoops Isopure and 8 Oz milk gives me 58 gram Protein in one haul. I use Isopure because of the high Protein content. It might work for you to. Good luck.

Be careful and don't drink all of that at once. We only metabolize about 20-25 grams of protein at a time so you would need to divide this up three ways to get benefit of all of the protein.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
