Thank you both. Happy Easter!

Still in a lot of pain. I have passed 4 smaller stones in the last 24 hours. Not sure if they are parts from the large 8mm stone or separate stones. Either way they hurt like heck!!

Gosh. I pray things get easier for you in a few days. Hopefully you won't hurt the whole time you have the stent in.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I hope things get easier as well. Standing at a urinal for hours at a time in hopes to use the bathroom is crazy.

Oh honey! I'm sorry to hear that you are distraught. It's not real. Stay off the scale. Keep doing your tried and true rules and it will all work its way out. This is a traumatic change for your body. It's confused and trying to keep you alive by holding onto everything to preserve your health. After you are out of pain and healthy you will get back on track. Just remember to eat correctly and drink lots of Water. Our prayers are with you in this difficult time.

Thank you so much. You know exactly what to say to help ease my concerns.

Can't wait until my appointment so I can get some answers and hopefully resolve some of my issues.

@@Fatty McFatster My boyfriend has had stones all his life. Ok, that sounded like Mick Jagger lives in his kidneys.

Anyway, I hope you're feeling better.

Whenever I'm feeling down I do one of the following:

1 - hug my dog - do you have pets? pets make the best doctors. But you're in the hospital so that's a no-no.

2 - look in youtube for a video called "Frostie dancing to Hold On! I'm coming".

3 - I sing "Hey Jude" to myself.

And, when in doubt, think: What would Garfield do?

I think he would threaten to throw stones (Kidney or not) at the doctor unless he gave you enough painkillers.

so sorry this happened to you! I had my first kidney stone experience - it was 6mm but theoreticlly narrow enough to pass. It never did, and so after a pretty dang long time i had that day surgery "procedure" where they blast it and put a stent in. They threatened to admit me due to the out of control pain but I wanted to go home - it really is THAT bad though. It has been hellish and I am only now feeling like I am returning to normal (stent removed Monday!). I am so sorry you are going through this - it is way more painful and life disrupting than I ever fathomed it could be....

Hang in there!

My girlfriend just had a stent put in yeaterday. She keeps on puking like every other 30 min. Nothing comes up only som Water. Dis you feel the same way at first, when you had the stent in ? Please tell me a bit about it ?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
