Looking for any April surgeries

Recommended Posts

I sure hope this helps you this time and you feel good inside and out. I'm anxious to hear how everything goes for you!!!

I've only told a few people myself! I just don't want to hear all the negative talk or the input they have. I'd rather just not hear anything. Even the one I told were like eh really your doing that. Do you really want to. So I'm like I'm done! All to myself from this point.

Neat your a sign language interpreter! I always said I wished I knew sign language! If we lived near each other you could teach me some things????

I'm over in England so we definitely don't live near! In Britain our sign language is totally different to ASL although I am planning to do an ASL course soon.

Definitely better to only tell people who really care x

Hi suepro. Whereabouts in England are you?

I'm in Perth Australia...also a long way away but lived in the UK for many years as my father is English.

I think the UK was right into the gastric band, and like Australia has recently moved more towards bypass due to the higher success of bypass and dismal failure of the band as a surgical method. I think the band was really a big expensive con!

Are you having the RNY or the newer Omega loop/ mini bypass?

So early April surgeries how did it go?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It went well. I was April 4th, so I'm a week out today. Still sore, but meeting my Protein and Water goals. Luckily, I haven't had any nausea since the first day. I did have a small intestinal hemorrhage in the hospital and lost a good bit of blood, so I've been sleeping a lot to let my body heal. But really, I can't believe how quickly the last week has gone by!

Good luck to those of you coming up!

I just had my surgery last Wednesday, April 6. I stayed in the hospital 4 days. I'm doing pretty good. Getting my Protein & liquids in no problem. I was so afraid this was going to be much worse. Right now all is good! Good luck to you!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
