Wow, all the band sis's got sickie together in all parts of the country!

This was a doozy of a flu................sounds like for all of us. Today is the first day I can say that I think I am turning the corner - it's almost 2 weeks! This is as bad as the Hong Kong Flu that hit in the early 70's.....I remember all 5 of us had it and my Mom brought over chicken Soup and left in on the porch...............we were so sick and we didn't want her to catch it! My cough was so bad on Thurs that I thought I'd end up in the hospital.................my doc called in an antibiotic and I started on it on Friday..............and yesterday I just felt horrible instead of deathly and today I actually think I'll recover! Wow! I must have developed a secondary infection of some kind............because just when I thought I was feeling better on Wed - I got worse again. Julie to have your Mom come you must have had it bad also.

Hopefully healthy days ahead for us all. Boy, do we know what good health is or what!

Yes, I had it bad. I called it the plague because I had all the plague symptoms - fever of 104, rash over my torso, blisters in my mouth, extreme thirst....Alas, the doctor says Influenza A, not plague, so I'm thankful. Wink.

Going back to work tomorrow at least for a half day. First day since the 15th, can you believe it? I got so dehydrated I had to have an emergency unfill too, so I know the hunger monster is going to be on my back in no time. I wasn't very tight to begin with, but my fever was so high I still got dehydrated to the point I couldn't hold down Water. Crazy.

Glad you've turned the corner too, Betty. Not fun, is it.

Can you believe it? We all got the flu? This has been so bad that I have just laid in bed and cried. After two weeks, it seemed like I would never recover. I am starting to feel a bit better and did go to work today. It felt very strange, though. In addition to a heavy chest cough, there is constant vertigo that has not yet left. The doctor told me there wasn't anything I could take, just to wait it out with plenty of fluids.

Now we are all on the mend! We WILL be out workin' it very soon! Here's to our health!!!

Life is FINALLY starting to look good to me again!

I've never been knocked flat for weeks with the flu before. I started to forget that life is grand. Oh, I feel so spoiled to have enjoyed good health through most of my life.

Well, I ran three miles last night in the worst time imaginable! (33:00)

I am still weak, but know from experience how quickly the body shapes up. The doctor has "ordered" me to not run more than 2-3 miles at one time until I go through therapy for my back. Now, that does not mean that I am a compliant patient!! Running only 3 miles last night felt like a sissy workout. The elliptical machine is allowed so I will probably devise some sort of combo deal.

I hope y'all are doing better too!!

Okay, ladies...are we all back in good health??

What are our goals for this month????

I am adding more stretching and weight training to my schedule. And I am starting a running group with a group of colleagues. I'll try to be more specific, but am following (partially) doctor's orders.

It's been over a month now and I am just starting to feel human. Went to the gym once last week and we walked a couple of times to Breakfast and back. Today - Alan and I are going to walk over to the movie center - a couple of miles there and a couple miles back! I can't believe how weak I feel. Worked in the yard yesterday and am so sore! I'm feeling like an old lady............need that "old feeling" back. Wow how fast that happened! I have not been on a scale for a couple of week - frightened........did a lot of liquid "feel good foods".............not good, I'm afraid.

I pledge to get back to the gym..............I'm going to my NIA class in the morning and will get back into my routine............I do need to pace myself tho...............yes, remember that Betty!

Julie - where are you?

I'm here, I'm here. Betty, I had your scale fear too. I went 3 weeks completely unfilled, ate what I felt was the WORLD and didn't get on the scale -- something I promised myself I'd never do. Anyway, I went to get my fill back on Monday and I'd only gained 1 lb (and even that wasn't "real" because my appt was at 4 pm and it's usually at 9 am). So it might not be that bad.

I'm still in emotional turmoil over men, work, life in general. I feel like how I used to sense our Australian flight-attendant friend (whose name begins with an "A" but I can't remember it just right now) felt from time to time.

Well, been "back" for a week now.............got back somewhat into my exercise routine..............wow........what a month off will do.........I was so pooped all week. Starting to feel human now and trying to up my exercise. Went to NIA this morning and then came home and walked another 45 minutes. Am wearing my bodybugg, and counting 800 calories per day. I'm up over 25 lbs from my lowest and am definately feeling the difference in the way I get around while exercising and just in daily life. Never thought I'd be at this point again, but here I am. I don't need a fill............my level is ok, I've just been doing the easy way out and doing too many high caloric liquids and soft foods. So have to concentrate on my solid Proteins and veggies. But first, to keep myself in line (800 calories) for the first few weeks, I've decided to do liquid Protein drinks and have one solid meal a day......I'll try to keep this up for a couple of weeks and then rethink! It's just an easy way to keep the calories down......, I'll transition into full time regular food tho, cause I know I can't keep this up for long.

Julie, life is here for us fat or thin...............thank goodness! We didn't wake up thinner and miraculously have a perfect life......did we? But, we can face the good, bad, happy, sad whatevers that come our way healthier! Are you all healed? Are you back to your regular exercise routines?

Boo, Are you doing better with the back problems? Hope so. When are you going to be up this way again?

Dawn, did we loose you? Hope not!

Hey guys, it's been forever since I have been here. It's been a long road for me. But I really want to get back in the game. Is there going to be a challenge for next month? Will there be a new thread for the new challenge? I am a member at Curves and I really like it, so I really want to get motivated to go more often. I couldn't help but notice all the progress you guys have made. Congratulations to everyone!

Join us, K@t!!!

Hey Julie, does "Amourette" ring a bell? Yeah, I can imagine there are all kinds of "stuff" you are dealing with! Just dump it on us and let it go. We are your biggest fans, cheering section, and want the best for you. You are an amazing woman and deserve to live a charmed life.

Betty, it looks like I will be in Seattle in July/August. I may be coming twice over the summer. I really thought I would be there this week, but there are too many work-related opportunities right now.

Guess what? In two weeks I am going to see "Mary Poppins" on Broadway! I am SO excited. Betty, you know me well enough to understand how I would like to BE/play Mary Poppins:smile:. I only wish it were young Julie Andrews in the title role.

Is anyone satisfied, yet???

I feel confident in public and around friends now, but I still dread the scale every morning.

And it seems that I hardly eat anything. It might be time to track calories. It is just the thing I have never wanted to do!!!

Take care, dear friends!! Thanks for the concerns. My flu is much better, back is slowly responding, and life is good again!!!

I really don't think any one would mind. If no one posts, I might start a new thread for the challenge in April.

Absolutely, losingjusme!!! We had a larger group and many have strayed.

This thread was originally in the main forum which was easier to find. It is actually nice to be tucked away in a more "private" corner of LBT. We have gotten to know each other pretty well. Julie, Guysis, Dawn, and I seem to be the main regulars. You can't find a more motivating AND understanding group.

It is pretty amazing to look at what we have accomplished with our weight-loss and exercise goals! Personally, reporting to my friends here has motivated me to get to the gym or hit the streets when the real urge has been to lay on the couch and eat ice cream :(.

We would love the company.

I'm totally loving running, but am currently on restriction while I complete some physical therapy. It is driving me crazy!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
