mine says best recommendation is never, but after 6 months it's ok. I love a glass of wine now and then, and collect wine from Old Mission Peninsula wineries.

I know a lot of people push this, but I do not plan to have anything before 6 months because it is straight up carbs and I want to make hay while the sun shines and maximize my weight loss in the beginning.

1 year, but must admit I am 7 months out, and have had a total of about 4 glasses of wine. Now 1 of my Iron test is high, so they told me to stay away from any alcohol right now, and I am.

I had my first drink at 4 months out around the holidays. A Bloody Mary.

I'm 18 months out now, and drink very occasionally. I do enjoy a nice glass or two of red every once in a while ;)

Since I live near Northern Virginia wine country this is a subject close to my heart. I am having surgery March 10th and I hope to be able to enjoy a sip or two this fall. My wife and I have a favorite vineyard called Bluemont Vineyard, great view, great wine!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
