What can I do with...Ricotta Cheese

Recommended Posts

No issues with it at all. It is very soft. Just don't let it burn or take caution if there are burned parts on the edges. As long as your program has approved you to move in to pureed / mushy foods, it should be fine. Tiny bites and put your fork son in between so you don't eat too fast. It is very filling so you won't be able to eat much. Quite literally 2 to 3 Tablespoons.

What food phase can that bake be had? Soft foods (3 weeks)? Because I am SO making that.

It looks like it would be soft phase based on my program.

I'm trying it tonight. Maybe a few days sooner than I should (not entirely sure, I'm on pureed foods?) but I need something to actually make me eat. It's smelling yummy! Plus there's some decent Protein in it.

Edit: Did alright. Would definitely avoid the top cheese crust and just mix it in next time during this stage. I had a few good bites but the chewy golden brown cheese crust was noticeably more "solid" then my stomach felt comfortable, so it did ache for a few minutes but nothing horrible. Keeping it down fine, I'm just going to avoid fluids for a little longer than half an hour suggestion because it feels a little bloaty in there. Otherwise, not a bad food for two and a half weeks.

Shoot. I was just about to write "don't let the top cheese get to Chrispy/chewy. It gave me a little bit of an issue!

Could you use salsa and a Little taco seasoning and make a Mexican Ricotta?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
