Hello Linda, Thank you for your reply. I wanted to try a salad so thanks for letting me know to wait till next week. Have you tried brisket? Were you able to handle this type of meat? What kind of Soups have you tried? Thanks

My dr wants me to have SIPS . Can you shed some light on your experience? I can't find anything on this online.

Hello Oking, I received a lot of information on youtube by watching the Sadi-s guy channel. He did a month to month review for a whole year. I decided to go with the SIPS/Sadi-s LOOP surgery because of its longer common channel for maximum absorption of Vitamins. I did not want to take an extreme amount of Vitamins and I also did not want the smelly gas and poop. I work in an office and I was told that the longer common channel allows the body to work through the process of waste elimination so that I don't have this problem. I also liked the idea of just a single Anastomosis connection instead of two. The loop process made a lot of sense to me and I went for it. I could only afford this opportunity once and did not want to come back years later to find out I needed further surgery because I failed with the sleeve only surgery. So Far so good, I take Calcium, B12 and Biotin and I wear the Vitamin patch. I will go for a 6 month check up and see how by Vitamin levels are and adjust it from there. I hope this helps. Blessings

What is wrong with me???? I go to the store and buy groceries and get things I am allowed to eat then buy too much and it goes bad and I have to throw it away. I was told I could have sugar free fudge pops and bought a box and only ate one. Same thing with sugar free Jello and so on. Just because I can have it, I buy it then don't eat it. I wanted avocados and bought 2 very large ones and by the time I decided to eat one they went bad. I hate to waste food. This is why I am the size I am so then why do I feel the need to over buy food. When I cook I do the same thing I tend to over cook the amount and my husband and I can't even eat it all. I know that my stomach is smaller and can only have a small amount but my mind has not accepted this yet. I then have regret for over buying and cooking. Crazy!!

My surgery date for the sips/sadi-s procedure is on 4-14-16! I'm excited, nervous, and kind of scared. There's not a lot of group forums that support with this kind of procedure...

Hello Losili, Congratulations on your date!!! Since my Sips surgery in January 25, 2016 I am now down 30lbs and feeling great and with energy and no complications. Learning to eat slow and drinking and sipping on Water all day is my biggest struggle.

I am now 6 days post-op. My first and second day after surgery were the worst! I was in immediate pain when I woke up. They were gas pains and mine lasted all day. They were worse than labor pains my opinion at least those came and left for me and it could be pain free if you recieve epidural. But these gas pains were no joke! I was on pain killers and it still didn't ease the pain much. The doctors said to just walk it out theres really not much and gas-x. I had no problem with walking just a couple hours after surgery and it helped. The 3rd and so fourth days are better. I'm in no pain and I had no problem with Water consumption.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
