I'm finding that 12 days out I am able to keep everything down. I have zero issues with drinking. I mean zero. I can finish a cup of tea in the same amount of time as pre surgery. I'm not really feeling much by way of restriction at this point. The first week I did. This truly scares me. I've tried foods on the soft stage I shouldn't be able to eat yet without issue. ( just a couple of times[emoji4]) Found that if I chewed the heck out of it it went down, stayed down and no issues. Many of us have gone into surgery thinking "what of THIS doesn't work?".

My ability to eat and drink so well so soon almost reaffirms that preop fear. I guess the best I can do for now is keep to my liquids, Protein and serving sizes along with exercise. Time will tell.

This sounds really dumb...but I get all mine in by using a straw. It just seems to disappear faster. Without the straw I struggle, I know weird. But it works for me. Good luck, you can do it.

Had my surgery on the 23rd too. I find it difficult to get my Protein in too since they all make me want to gag:(

I try to get my Water in, eat Soup, drink low calorie Gatorade, light apple juice, etc. oh I also eat sugar free Popsicles????.

Fortunately for me I actually like the Premier Protein shakes both vanilla and chocolate. sugar free popsicles are my treat. I made cream soup which I strained and that is pretty filling. Sorry you are having problems with the Protein? ???

Love the Premier Protein shakes also. Been drinking them since the start of this journey I am on. Never tire of them. Sometimes almost freeze them and eat them like a frosty. Pretty good.

Hadn't thought of that. Definitely will give it a try

I'm going to say that at almost two weeks out I can drink fairly well. I had a hernia repair too to that may be slowing me down a bit but if I go slow and feel for it I can definitely tell when I'm getting full and it happens fast with anything of substance. liquids do go down better but not like before surgery for sure.

Also, I just want to add that the biggest hurdle for me has been emotional. I'm thanking God for my kids and boyfriend because if I didn't have them I don't think this would be as successful an experience for me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
