I use the Lourdes network for almost all of my doctors...I really like them. Have only been to this Camden hospital once for pre-surgery testing, but it seemed really nice. Good luck with Nursing school!

I'm going to be at Lourdes in Camden.

Where are you guys that are in new jersey having your surgery?

Good luck! I like Lourdes. I'm applying to nursing school there!

I started the pre-Op diet on Monday and today I've lost 7 lbs. I know is sounds like a plug but the Unjury Protein Shakes taste really good. I have some chocolate Orgain too but it seems a bit chalky and tastes a bit peptobismolly.

I started my preop on 4/4 weighing in 210 lbs. VSG 4/18 and today 4/23 I am 193.7. Thats a lost of 17.2 pounds in 19 days. I can't believe my eyes. I weight myself this morning without my glasses and I was so certain it said 199 and I said to myself: there it is. I'm gaining weigh. When I got off and looked closer and saw 193.7 I was shocked. I mean happy but it just feels unreal. I've been struggling with my weight my whole life and now it's literally just melting off me. The doctor and the staff always said to me: you are going to do great. This is just what you need. And I always smiled back but with some disbelieve. Today I can say it's been the best decision I've ever made! And I'm not even a week post op!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum but having read the posts I can see that you're all wonderful and a great support network for one another. I'm from the UK, and unfortunately haven't been able to find a forum like this in the UK, so hope you don't mind me joining in?! I'm due for a sleeve on 1st May, so I'm currently doing my 2 weeks pre-op diet... Best of luck to everyone with their upcoming surgeries. Xx

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
