Sagging face questions

Recommended Posts

Hello, one of my biggest concerns after surgery is loose skin on my face. I carry alot of my weight in my face so I know I will have sagging. However, I am 24 and skin bounces back easier. I am still concerned. Any tips for to prevent this???

Minimizing sagging skin on the face is the same as loose skin everywhere else. A lot depends on genetics, age, and other things outside of your control. The steps you can take are to stay well hydrated, moisturize daily, and take your Vitamins (possibly some extra Vitamin C and beef gelatin).

I am over twice your age, lost 150# and I don't have too much of a problem with this. Be optimistic, and I can assure you I look better with one, not 3 chins. :)

I find if I smile a lot, the saggy skin is gone. So I suppose I look annoyingly happy all the time now? ????

I've lost 140 pounds too! I think my face looks great except for some extra wrinkles on my neck and when I add lots of lotion it seems to be better. So my recommendation moisturizer or lotion every day maybe even twice a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
