Hello @@jessicasantana28 :)

I went to the first seminar for my bariatric program in January of last year, and had the RNY on August 17th of last year. Since beginning the program, I've lost 117 pounds (102 since the day of surgery). I've had no complications except for a little anemia that is being managed by my doctor. I have no regrets!

I wish you only the best as you move forward. Feel free to friend me or message me if there's anything you think I may be able to help you with. ^_^

Hi there and welcome! Congratulations on making your decision to get healthy!

I had RNY 16 months ago. I had many comorbitities, many very serious. I am down 140lbs to a normal BMI. I was 310lbs when I started, 303 on surgery day. I am now 170 and 5lbs away from my ideal weight. I am beginning the maintenance phase of my journey knowing I have a lot of loose skin.

I am guessing at least 15lbs of it. All of my comorbitities are in remission.

My only regret is waiting too long to make this decision. I love how I look and how I feel.

I wish you the very best!

@@jessicasantana28 I have to say the WLS was the best decision I have ever made. I too decided to have it because I want to give the best life to my child. I had my surgery November 2015 and I am down 75 lbs ! I haven't felt this good in a long time. I had the bypass done and I am really glad I did. not only did I help myself but I helped people around me too ! They were all so interested in what I had done. A lot of emotions are expected... This is a forever life change. But you will be happy you did. I love to help people and I am always here to talk ! Message me at anytime. I will answer any questions. ????????????????

Welcome and let us know if we can be of any help. I put my stories into a couple little articles on the internet. I am 33 months post-op RNY gastric bypass surgery. The first article covers my experience during the "Weight Loss" phase. The second describes the "Maintenance" phase. I have also included my before and after photograph at the 6 month mark.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
