Oh and glad to know my favorite foods aren't gone forever, I think I was going to binge eat for the first time like a chipmunk saving for the winter. I don't want to go back to my old eating habits but I certainly want to be able to have a glass or sip of wine occasionally, a taste of ice cream once in a while...little things

So I had the psych evaluation and met with the Nurse today, so far so good. I'm getting cleared. But the hospital won't let me schedule a surgery date until I take my final class on Feb 17

I'm with you on all of that! I'm going next Tuesday to see my surgeon for the first time, and we will begin the process! I'm hearing different things about what I will have to do for my insurance to cover, 3 month or 6 month supervised diet, so until I know more, I'm in limbo! It's nerve-wracking and exciting. I just want to get started so I can get living again. And the part I dread? The excess skin! Ugh

. I've worried about that excess skin myself!!!! I'm looking things up daily trying to formulate a plan for that.

I remember waiting for that insurance call.. And I got it last Friday (whoop) but now I'm waiting for the call to schedule the surgery and that wait is probably worse than my insurance clearance wait. All tests are done, just waiting on the date ...

I feel the same way... Ever since they called and told me 'we got your approval and sent it to he surgeons office, they should be calling you within the week to schedule the date' I haven't slept well at all! I'm nervous too, and I feel like I want it to hurry up and get here but also I don't wanna rush it... I'm in such a weird mental space right now. Very anxious.

I once talked to a plastic surgeon who told me that wearing spanks would actually help. I don't know about everywhere else but I'll try anything.

Honestly, the 6 months is a breeze. I wasn't told to go on a diet. Just read labels and keep a food diary and turn it in at every class. When to start Vitamins and kick caffeine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
