Any January 7th sleevers? Would love to connect!

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve procedure on January 7th & things have gone quite well. I haven't been to a support meeting since my procedure--they keep getting cancelled due to inclement weather. I've lost 27lbs so far (including the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery) & am excited to wake up every day. It's amazing what a little hope will do in your life! The weather is pretty cold, so I've been walking the length of the house figure 8 style (lol!) for 15-20 min twice a day. Getting a little bored w/ the Premier Protein shakes, but am thankful to have one I like! Also making some liquified vegetable Soup w/ Protein Powder. So far, so good!

I had surgery Jan 4. I was 216 day of surgery I am down to 189.2 now. I have been having a hard time keeping anything down. I vomited a lot. Now that I am on foods I am doing better. The hardest thing for me is getting my fluids in. I can barely make 25oz per day.

Hi! I was sleeved Jan. 5th. Almost at the three week mark and have lost 24 lbs! I have had no complications, thankfully. The first week was the most difficult but every day it gets better. No vomiting or nausea but I actually have experienced dumping syndrome after drinking a glass of high Protein low fat chocolate milk. Never again! I'm still on a liquids (soups and Protein shakes). It's getting boring but I'll do what I'm told and get through it. It's not forever. I've never been looking forward to eating an egg so much in my life. I'm so happy I found this forum and had this surgery. It's the best feeling in the world to have hope again. It's not easy, but it's worth it. :)

Fellow newbies, I just discovered something new at the doctor's office today. It's a liquid mix-in for Water that has 15g protein! I'm trying to get as much Protein in anywhere I can b/c I've heard that help your hair not fall out so bad. I got a variety of flavors & tried grape tonight--it tastes & smells like a jolly rancher, but 2g sugar & 60 calories. I know it's more calories than crystal light etc, but it helped flavor the Water (plain water just tastes very strange now) & I'll take the hydration & the Protein.

I've found a powdered Peanut Butter that is 45 cal (13fat cal) & 5g Protein for 2 Tablespoons mixed w/ 1 Tablespoon of Water (I actually used 1T of Fairlife 1%milk b/c of the very high protein & low carb/cal) & this mixture is really helping me swallow 2-3 of my large Vitamins. Please share anything interesting that you all find❤️

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
