For Those at Least 8 Weeks Out - How Much Food is Your Sleeve Holding?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am 8 weeks out. Today, I sat down and measured my food and ate 1/2 cup of eggplant. I was full after. I realized that I was eating too much before. I was eating nearly a cup of food, and it was not necessary. I think I was not giving myself the 20 minutes to finish my meal, which is partially due to my time restraints at work during the day.

How much food are you eating?

Also, what are you eating for Breakfast lunch and dinner?

At 8 weeks I was really just eating Protein. 6 oz of fish and 3 oz of any other meat, 4oz of lobster.

Around that time I had fish 4 times a day so I didn't have to take Protein shakes, because I was tired of them. With fish I could eat enough to meet my Protein goals and not have to supplement.

I'm 20 months out now so my capacity is greater. However looking back at my food logs at 8 weeks I was eating 90% Protein. Protein Shakes, 2 oz beef, 2-2.5 oz chicken, 3 oz fish or shrimp, Greek yogurt (the majority of a 5.3 oz container), Beans, etc. on the rare occasion I had room, I would add in some softer veggies like broccoli or cauliflower. At that point for Breakfast I was eating protein shakes and lunches were usually egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, etc. 2-2.5 oz. Hope that helps

At 2 months I could eat about 2 to 2.5 ounces of solid Proteins and about 3 oz of softer foods. My main meals were about the same as what @@stacyrg1 listed.

At 8 weeks, I was eating around 1/2 cup. At two years, I can eat a cupful if its dense, a little more if it's soupy.

I'm 9 weeks out and I'm eating a Protein shake with a banana blended in for Breakfast, about a 1/3cup of some kind of Protein for lunch, and the same for dinner. I'll usually have an 80 cal yogurt for a snack or maybe some pieces of cheese. I've just started trying to get in some veggies like green Beans or broccoli. I also put some cheese on top of my chicken or whatever to add more protein. I have some low fat swiss that's carb free and only 50 cals. Something else I've been doing is broth with powdered Gelatin in it. That's 10 more grams of protein and 50cals.

What I'm wondering is....how many calories were people consuming at this point out? I average about 780/day. I also am not losing weight. I went up a pound last week then finally lost that today but it's been stalled at 243 for about 1 1/2 week. Argggh!

Also, sorry to post this in here but I haven't figured out how to start a thread and ask these questions.

I am in week 7 and I have about 800 calories per day and 80 grams of Protein. Today I ate a yogurt, a half cup of school baked Beans, a Protein Bar (zone perfects melt in the mouth as you eat them. I eat half, then the other half) sashimi and some spinach Souffle with nutritional yeast. I'm short a bit for protein today. May sip some Isopure here in a bit.

I can get about an egg sized amount of food in me in the morning, and maybe a 1/2 cup at lunch. The beans today I know we're only a half cup scoop. I ate that whole thing and was full. I think my stomach is swollen still. It ebbs and flows, some days are better than others.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
