actually my nurse suggested them for me. I had about a third of the tube to a glass of ice Water. I like the grape flavor. Do not get the fruit punch. It is nasty. You can add some lemon if you like. It tastes like grape kook aide. I have been doing them everyday.

I have not heard it was junk Protein. I am going to call doc and see what they say.

I would suggest doing your own researching online, no just here and not just what your Nut/Dr tells you...what are the differences between collagen vs whey Protein.< /p>

Unless it's actual peer reviewed Medical journal research from credible sources, online research would not be the way to go, and unfortunately those journals cost money to be able to view them, most of them; at this time, I will have to trust my surgical team. Stuff that is on the web is not always credible. Thanks for the input; I still have not taken any of them, and I am not sure I will until I check with my team.

My doctors office said that the body can't absorb more than 30g of Protein at a time. Better make sure you're able absorb all of it before you waste your money.

The PDCAAS score for this is 4 out of 100 possible points. Which means you are only going to get 4% of the listed Protein absorbed into your body.

ok, got mine in the mail today and opened one. Here is my take on it; YUCK!!!!! All I can tell you is this is a great way to up my Water intake. A sip of Protein, half a bottle of Water, a sip of Protein, another half a bottle of water...you get the idea!!!

That's why I get a glass of Water, about 15 oz or so and pour 1/3 of the tube in. I just bought a berry one today and it tastes great. Have a message into my doc about the collagen Protein. I looked at the amino acids and am talking to my nephew about it who was a biology major and knows protein and amino acids very well.

From what I have read and my nutritionist, the best and easiest absorbed Protein are isolates. Since the absorption factor on these shots are so low, they might be handy as flavor enhancers for Water, but I wouldn't count them towards my daily Protein intake. I was given ProSource Nocarb in the hospital. They are very thick so I added them to my tea, but you can drink them straight from the pouch. They only come in orange cream and strawberry flavors though. Personally I found I did better with the Isopure Unflavored and mixing it to whatever I needed.

I don't like how they taste at all.. Or the consistency but if you like them I think it's okay for your bad Protein days where you won't hit your goal. But don't count on them for the rest of your life. They will make you feel full but they do not count as a Meal Replacement (like most shakes do). My doctor said only use them to supplement. And my NUT hates me drinking my protein anyways.. She would rather me eat it. But everyone's Docs and NUTs are different.

That's how I felt with muscle milk, chalky! I am going to stick to making my own from the recipes I got from my bariatric team.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
