I'm good in the weight, I'm down 12 pounds extra, I have done all of my tests and my last required nut appointment is Wednesday, after that I have done everything.

Did you knock out yours less than 6 months?

I have yet to find many people who were fast tracked after completing half of their visits. I would love to do that..

I still had to complete all 12 PT, 12 Nut, and 12 mental therapy appointments, there is absolutely no way around that.

I haven't attended seminar or met the surgeon at UW yet...thats in a few weeks. Wondering which of the procedures they'll end up recommending for me

etc. Did anyone choose their own procedure or did the surgeon choose what he felt was best for you?

I sat down with the social worker and a couple nurses and we discussed the pros and cons of each procedure, then I made the decision from there. When tests come back and if everything looks good then I will be getting the RNY

So if you live n Spokane and have Molina Ins. What is stage 1 and stage 2? I have been approved for 1&2

Stage 1 is getting into program. Stage 2 is actively completing insurance goals, like losing g 5%, all of your doctor visits psych eval, testing etc.

Stage 3 is surgery approval which happens after you meet insurance requirements. It's when you get your surgery date.

I was approved today to begin Stage 2 of Molina's bariatric program. I am a 5'5", 309 pound 35 year old female. My BMI is 50. I have one co-morbidity of high blood pressure, and a doctor who believes that WLS is medically necessary.

I also have fibromyalgia, but I do not believe they take that into consideration when it comes to medicaid.

My doctor referred me to the required orientation for Dec. 16th, 2015. I was approved today, January 11th, 2016.

I have to complete these requirements by July 4th, 2016

12 dietician visits

12 physical therapy visits

bariatric psych eval ( or my last years records from my counselor)

EKG

I live in Clarkston, WA. My PCP Tamara Bruns (Nurse) got me into the program. I will be having surgery at Rockwood Surgical Group in Spokane, WA.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!! I completed everything or so I was told. Today I received a phone call saying I needed to complete 12 physical therapy visits. I'm pissed! Do these have to be done within a certain time? Here I thought I was ready for scheduling after asking if there was anything else I needed to do long ago & was told no. My insurance is Molina. Anything else I should know? SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!

So I just completed all of Molinas requirements and then I was scheduled for the (4/19/17) Seminar at Rockwood, the next day I met with Dr. Bright, the surgeon. They also have some requirements such as EKG, labs, and the psych Evaluation and any other tests that will seem relevant to you specifically. You'll also need to have a nutrition consult with the nutritionist at the hospital. Once those things are all completed and they have all of the results, your file is given to the Surgeon who will then decide if you are a candidate for WLS. If he agrees to proceed then you will go on to the next step, which is Rockwood obtaining pre-authorization from insurance. Once they have the okay from insurance they will call you to schedule and youll finally have a date!!

I only know all of this because I am in the middle of it all. My nutrition consult is June 2nd. I scheduled far out, so I can work on all the presurgical testing and have everything done by that date, so that I can move on to the next step faster! Good luck, it's quite the journey and takes a toll on ones patience at times! But it will all be worth it in the end! Rockwood is great and they move you along as fast as possible!

I had to do mine within 6 mo. I was scheduled every 2 weeks, and I had my last appointment past the 6 mo, my insurance had to add an extension or i would of had to start the entire process over. call your insurance to see the time limit and ask for an extension if needed.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
