3 Week Stall

Recommended Posts

I got my surgery on 1/12, so I am in my 3rd week.

I have been in stall for the last 7 days.

What bothered me the most is that I lost a lot of weight on the first 2 weeks and the month previous (liquid diet).

One of the things I did is to step out of the scale (I was doing a daily weight) and stop thinking about it.

What I am dying for us to get to the soft solids stage...

Staying off the scale is a great strategy.

It's look the rule of law was working... I was just stressing about this during eating some tuna and mashed potatoes, questioning whether I should have been doing it or not. Now in week 3 weighed myself this morning and the scale did not move -__- thankfully it is normal I had pre-read about stalls but it is different when you're actually going through one. But at least we're not alone.

Yes! At least I'm not thinking about it if I don't know the lb reading...

What I am planning to do is to weight myself once a week (Monday's)... Even though I have read I should weight myself every 2~3 weeks....

It also might have to do that I am having a difficult time getting the amount of exercise I need...

First I want to say that since my three week stall I have now lost more than ten lbs, so the stall for now is over. I think people should have the right to "freak" out if they want. You may say. that will not solve anything. That is not the point. The point is to acknowledge how you feel. This is important. Also, I do not think the mere mention of being disappointment about a stall is "freaking out". Anytime one strives for a goal and that goal is not achieved there is going to be disappointment. That is normal. To state over wise is false. So if you experience a stall cry about it, shout about it, throw something (preferably something that will not break), and so on. Then once you have had your moment pick yourself up off the floor and plan again. The journey we are on is going to have all kinds of feelings/emotions the best way to deal with it is to acknowledge it.

Thank you So much for this post. I am 3.5 weeks out of surgery--and I weigh every morning, for the past three days I have weighed exactly the same. Talk about frustrating. Thank you for letting me know this is normal.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
