Hopefully having my sleeve surgery this Thursday the 18th. I came down with walking pneumonia 2 wks ago and the surgeon wants to see me tomorrow to see if he hears Fluid in my lungs. Any fluid then surgery is postponed until April. ???????? Stinks if that is the case because I will have to do the 2wk liquid diet all over again.

I am in the hospital and I had my surgery yesterday :) I have been very blessed so far. The pain has not been bad and I am practically running down the halls (according to my mom). I am having trouble sleeping right now because I amurinating quite a bit. Overall, I feel good.

I lost about 15lbs on my 2wk pre op diet and my understanding was it is a way to heal your liver and allow a safer easier surgery for the doctor. It really wasn't too bad but I also was sick for part of it and didn't feel like eating anyways. If I were you I would try to stick with a low carb/ low sugar and high Protein diet now until your surgery. It will not only allow you to have an easier surgery but give you an idea on the new lifestyle and food choices you will be making after surgery. I am actually glad I did it. I will be sleeved tomorrow here in TN.

Hi Sammie16! Glad you are starting to feel better! I was in a lot of pain when I woke up too! I started feeling a little better once I got the pain meds! Had to take the anti nausea medication twice but it made me feel better right away! Once I was able to get up and moving, things were a lot better! I got to go home yesterday and was able to get a good night sleep. My sister bought me a wedge pillow which keeps my head elevated. My doctor said I needed to keep at a 30% incline when lying down. Got a shower and actually feel human today! ???? I am getting ready for my first Protein Shake. Hope you are well and making good progress! Take care! Keep me posted!

Home again, home again, jiggity jig jig! Phew! I had a lot of a nausea, so they kept me an extra day. Felt great the night of my surgery. Then got sick the next morning and felt like crap all day Tuesday, then pretty darn good again today. Concentrating on getting that Water down!

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
