Any February Surgery Dates...

Recommended Posts

I was given a HUGE binder of detailed information and medical reasoning upon my very first visit in 5/14. They are very precise and very structured at my clinic. They make it clear that if you fail to be compliant with the concepts they set forth, they reserve the right to delay or dismiss your surgery if you simply cannot be compliant and as healthy as you can be. It may seem strict, but I respect my Bari team, and I believe they are there for me now and forever! Finding this forum has really helped me so much!!

I am have gastric bypass Feb. 26th. I have been waiting since June 2015 to complete my program requirements and waiting for my surgery date. Super excited and scared all at the same time. I know different surgeons require different pre-op diets but mine is no more than 800 calories daily, Protein Shakes only with the exception of 1 sub. of diet juice or sugar-fee Popsicles for 2 weeks. Really dreading that part, but I know it is totally going to be worth it. It is going to be hard to cooking dinner for my family for those weeks but something I will have to get used to.

Yes, it will be worth it!! I am also having to cook for everyone else and have just my pre op allowance. It sucks, but I'm determined and extremely motivated to get this done and help myself health wise. I started my diet this past Sunday. You can do it! Don't let ANYTHING distract you. I was told once by a wise person: If you want something more than anything else, and you love that person/thing/idea/outcome more than anything else in your life, then you will be successful. I believe that, and I know if you believe that, you will do fine ????

Re: terrified??

Heck yeah!! I stay terrified. Terrified I'll have problems, terrified I'll fail, terrified it won't work....and on and on! I'm trying to make that "terror" work for me rather than RULE me. I tell myself that as long as I have those feelings, I will stay on my toes and tie the line. Just keep breathing and believing in yourself. You made it to this point with hard work. There is no reason to think you will not go forward and win the prize????!! You will!

Feb 9th here...started my 2 week liquid pre-op diet today. I can't wait for this ☺I'm scared and nervous at the same time. It's only day one and I feel like this is going to be really hard but I know I can do this, I have too. Any advice on finding a Protein drink/powder that doesn't taste awful?

Since I've already gone through the sleeve, and now am getting ready to have the bypass in a week, I took what I learned from the last time ;) this time since I will be three days liquid before and then not wanting to cook afterwards, I made 2 weeks of casserole and full dinners and just frozen them. There is a list of what's available with how to cook it on the fridge. That way my husband can just choose and pop in the oven

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
