I feel like I am hungry and weak. Would love to eat just a teaspoon of Peanut Butter. Good idea or no? I am 2 weeks post op. I was going to just kind of suck on it. I can't eat yogurt anymore...I'm am sensitive to lactose and it's killing me. The last pre made Protein shake I had I burst out in an allergic rash all over......I need something to "hold me" and "sustain me". Running after a toddler and infant and going back to work tomorrow. Good idea or no?

I felt sick after PB for nearly a month. If you can do yogurt you could probably do PB. Eat it super slowly.

At 2 weeks I was released for soft foods. What does your plan say?

At two weeks post op I was on full liquids so Peanut Butter would have been a "no" but PB2 in a shake or pudding would have been ok.

By the time I was on soft foods, Peanut Butter (in small amounts) was allowed.

What does your program materials or NUT say?

I am also 2 weeks out.... I can tell you everyone's plan is different. I can start blended at 2 weeks and other say they can start at 4-6 weeks...

Anyway Peanut Butter is listed as "AVOID" on my program

My biggest problem with experimenting with Peanut Butter was the fact that I can not drink enough Water to wash it down and it gets hung up in my throat.

I waited until cleared for solid food before I tried PB. When I did I found that as Miss Mac mentions it is very thick and slow to go down so be very careful. Now at 3 months out I eat a little on a very thin slice of apple without peel and really enjoy it. I can still only tolerate very little but I really enjoy it.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm on clear broth, Protein Shakes, puréed fruit or plain yogurt only. One week 2 of 3. I did put some PB2 in my yogurt and it helped. Of course the yogurt gives me the runs (lol sorry tmi!). 1 more week I can do this!!

At that stage, everything gave me the runs :) liquid in. Liquid out.

I will have a tiny lick of PB, but anything more than a 1/4 tsp is way too heavy. The little taste is enough for my craving though. Good luck!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
