A little help please

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I'm sure this has been discussed over and over but I can't seem to find the forums. Can you recommend the best flavorless Protein powder please and where to get it. Also, has anyone tried the flavorless bipro brand found in bariatric pal?

Thanks for your input

Hi, I'm waiting to hear the answer to this as well. my surgery is in 40 days, and I'm doing Atkins right now to lose weight before surgery, I'm down almost 20,but my big beef is that the various Protein powders I've been using are pretty darn expensive.

Also, because I have no problem eating the same things over and over, coupled with my anticipated "fear" post op of messing up! I'm sure I'll be The Protein shake Kid for quite a while, I admit I'm nervous, and mainly about a lifetime of poor neurotic eating habits and how these might sabotage me post op. The difference now is that I have the best support team around me in terms of the Bariatric weekly meetings, traditional therapy, a walking and meditation program in place, etc Here's goes the next phase of my life only now I can add another very powerful behavior mod tool to my aforementioned arsenal..

Good lu k to us all!!

I like the Isopure zero Carb unflavored. It doesn't have a milky consistency like some of the unflavored, so I can add it in with my crystal light and it's not disgusting!

I buy the Unjury too and my nutritionist told me to use a half package of sf Jello in it to give it flavor..I thought it was weird but I actually like it.

I have tried many brands and my favorite low calorie/low carb high Protein One is Syntrax Nectar. It has none of the chalky, gloopy, cake batter tasting as some do. It is very smooth and delicious and comes in many flavors. I think you can also get trial packs to get you started and here at BP they sell them.

I like it. Since everyone's tastes are different, especially after surgery, you might want to get some individual packets before you I eat in a big tub. I also like the ProtiDiet creamy chicken and Tomato basil Soups.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
