Banded but not losing!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi, i've been banded since december 2005. I successfull lost 20lbs. I found out i was 6 weeks pregnant March 2006. So got completely unfilled immediately. Thankfully I only gained 18lbs with my preganancy and had a healthy 9lb 1 oz baby boy Oct 2006. I got refilled Jan 2007 and to date have not lost anything. I lose a 1lb gain a 1lb. I can still eat. There is minimal restriction. I'm sooooo discouraged and really need some encouragement and support from my fellow bandsters on what to do. Can you please send me some of you sample daily menus so I can try them please. I'm trying to hang in there but I'm so discouraged.

Could you need another fill? You may not be at optimum restriction...Congrats on your baby!

The first thing I would do is make sure you have the right level of restriction. If you can eat too much that is why you aren't losing. I would definitely go back in for a fill first.

I have heard of a special forum for new moms that are going through what you are. I am sorry I cannot remember it now...I think it had to do with another website..obesityhelp.com

Hi guys thanks for all the enouraging words and congrats. I have actually had 3 fills since Jan 2007. the first was not enough it was 2.0 and then it went to 2.5 and i think that was too much! I then went back down to 2.0 but i still can eat. I feel the tightness in my chest when I eat to fast so I know there is restriction, but I still actually feel hungry. My stomach actually growls after I eat. What can i do?

Protein first? Increase Water, increase exercise...track calories. Watch empty calories...alcohol, sugars, carbs. I usually know exactly why I am stuck without losing and it is usually one of the above.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
