How long off work (office work)

How bad is the pain

How soon can you go the gym (treadmill walking)

How long till sex ☺️

How do you tell people you lost the weight so fast if you don't tell them you had surgery?

Thank you xxx

1st week I took a week off for the entire day, 2nd week I only did half days (special ed teacher)

Pain wasn't bad at all, just more uncomfortable and I do not do pain well. No pain meds once at home. One dose of Tylenol at home on the day of discharge (the next day after surgery). The pain you may experience is the gas pain. OH MY WORD!!!!!! I walked miles in home to help relieve the gas pain. I took Gas X strips, it moved the gas, but no release for 2 days.

You can walk about a week later, no strength training for 4 weeks (no heavy lifting).

That was tough, I waited almost 2 weeks. We couldn't wait any longer.

I just told people, too many women I work with. I didn't want rumors to start.

Suggestions: I used a recliner chair for sitting and sleeping. It made it much easier to get up and down. I also purchased a shower chair. Last thing you want to do is fall, especially in the shower.

Good luck to you. It was easier have RNY than having a baby. ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
