Another Update

I saw the Counselor on Wednesday. She is very concerned about me. I will be seeing the other Counselor next week and thee Dietician (that appointment was already set up). I am at the basement of my BMI. If I get sick, I will fall below a healthy BMI.

I was given strict orders to stay off the scale, track my intake of food and Water. She also wants me tracking my mood and want is going on in my life.

I'm struggling with this problem also. I can't eat more then 800:900 calories a day, I feel very weak. I'm 121 lbs for 5"5. Start weight 240, bypass March 2015. My surgeon really think everything mechanically is working. We did a endoscopy, ct scan, but I still can't eat much, he ask the psychologist to see me. I'm really worried at this point. My goal should be 135 lbs so How to get this 15 lbs back? On a stressful day like yesterday I only eat 500 cal. Any suggestion is welcomed. Also I'm going to UCLA Bariatrics for a second opinion in February .

Can't or won't. There is a big difference. Why can't you?
I can't I just tried some Pasta with homemade tomatoes sauce and I vomit the all thing. Anything solid hurts until I let it out. I was able to eat salmon. And shrimps without problem, that's why I think something is wrong. Monday upper GI with barium. How can this be a mental problem, I'm hungry, I want to eat.

Pasta is definitely not the best choice of foods to have. Some of us won't eat pasta again. Try sticking with your proteins; cottage cheese, soft fishes, your salmon and shrimps, soft veggie burgers, canned tuna you've got the idea.

You can eat starches in moderation if you are in the maintenance phase or even need to gain weight.

I am so glad you are seeing a therapist. Just keep trying to see if there is something you can tolerate. Do you think it was the Pasta or the sauce that didn't sit well with you?

Don't know but since they enlarge a little during my endoscopy I can eat better. Also I stop Protein Shakes and bars I think those make me feel sick. Still I feel restriction when I eat. I'm honestly try to push a little but I get sick so I stop before feeling full. Around 1000 cal a day. Protein first. I really think my pouch it's too small. I'll go for second opinion on Jan 7

Well, I maintain 160 lbs. to 165 lbs. on between 1,000 and 1,400 calories ( and 120 grams of protein ) a day and I walk 2 1/2 hours a day. That in mind, think where a 1,000 calories and a fair amount of exercise might put you now.

I had the same problem (wish I still had that problem) and visited my NUT. She added calories/carbs and after doing some calculations, identified my levels of calories to gain, lose, or maintain my level of weight. It's worked well...

I've continued to reference these recommendations and they continue to work. After 2 years it's gotten more difficult to comply, but at least i know my limits and logging helps me stay on track.

I have anxiety and fear over failing once again. I have failed at my weight loss time and time again. When I see the number go down on the scale, I feel relief. When it goes up, I have fear of failing again. It isn't only what the scale says, It is how I feel physically and how my clothes feel.

When I eat because I am hungry, I have guilt for eating. I just know I will get fat again.

This is terrifying to me.

That anxiety and fear is why I think it is absolutely critical that you use professional help. I am glad you are seeing professionals about this.

We can be encouraging and cheer you on, but we do not have the professional skills and training that will be most helpful for you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
