Hi everybody. I'm new to this. I'm 2wks and 5 days post op rny. I'm still not feeling any restriction from eating or drinking! Is this normal? I'm not hungry when I eat but I'm certainly not feeling that "full" feeling either. Anybody else?

I'll bet you'll feel it once you are eating foods beyond the pureed stage.

FWIW I'm 3.5 weeks and can drink 11oz Protein shakes in 2-3 mins and a 30oz glass of Water in 10 mins.

I'm pretty certain the restriction will be noticed once I have some more solid sustenance.

Relax....it's all good.

Thank you for that. I was just wondering because I take my Proteins, Vitamins, and Water without any issues and I've noticed many have alot of issues. I am in puree/soft foods stage. I chew 20-25 times and still feel like I can eat more. It's weird! Lol

I'm 5 weeks out and have zero issues and have yet to push myself passed around 1/2 cup of food. I've never dumped, but I am strictly adhering to the diet. Ive had zero issues with new foods, medicines, Vitamins, etc. I've yet to have a "I couldn't possibly eat one more bite" feeling. I've had scrambled eggs, turkey meatballs, chili, tuna and other filling Protein sources, but have never felt stuffed on my 1/2 cup servings. We'll see if things change over time as my stomach nerves heal.

No I do not drink with my meals. I wait half an hour before I'm able to drink after my meals as advised by my doctor. I also have to stop drinking 15 minutes before my meals. I'm right with you goblue9280!

I agree with @@Dub give it some time. You should notice the difference once you're back to regular food. I'm close to three and a half months and sometimes I'm still taken aback by how little I can eat. But drinking, I've never had an issue with that. I can gulp Water easily. Congrats on your surgery and hang in there!

Oh yeah.....today was that day.

My surgeon advanced me to the next step with foods. Whew....I can eat, but it's funny how little I want to eat during these meals. A couple well chewed bits and bam...done for that meal. And so it goes.

Definitely wait it out, in the first few weeks I felt as if I wasn't going to have any restrictions. But now 6 weeks out I can barely eat my 2oz of food.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
