After having my gall bladder removed 15 years ago I have had issues eating eggs. They cause really bad stomach pain for a whole day. I have had some trepidations about trying them since my sleeve. I figured I might as well get it over with and eat one. I will let everyone know how it goes. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have had eggs twice since surgery. The first time I was able to eat about 1/2 an egg and I was stuffed. The next time, I had a whole egg over easy.

You don't have to eat eggs, if you have issues with them avoid them. I don't like yogurt so I don't eat. There is no reason to force yourself to eat something you don't like or aren't comfortable. I can understand the desire to try because early on we have a limited number of things we can but for me, since I can eat so little, eating something I don't like is basically torture. I didn't do all this to torture myself.

I love eggs and would eat them all the time. Unfortunately my body just doesn't like them as much as I do. I tried one earlier today and I'm still paying for it now. So, no more eggs for me.

I love eggs! Unfortunately after the sleeve my body doesn't like them so much, but egg beaters don't bother me.

I had a difficult time eating eggs for the first few months after surgery. They just did not agree with my new stomach. However, as time progressed I was able to eat them with no trouble...maybe around 6 or 7 months post op.

After my gallbladder was removed I had an issue with eggs for a while. I was able to get passed it and can eat them with no issues post-op, however I used to eat the egg beaters or egg whites mix and had no problem with those after the gallbladder surgery.

eggs have been a no-no for me since surgery. My new and improved tummy doesn't like them.

I've tried eggs twice.

Never trying again.

Did not go well. The thought makes me cringe.

I've had a scrambled egg twice and both times it sat in my stomach like a brick. I've also had a deviled egg and I felt fine. No clue why my stomach is so fickle!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
