Any WA state sleevers with surgeries coming up?

Recommended Posts

Hey there, I just plan to do the gastric sleeve but I'm not sure if Molina insurance company will approve me. Can you guys tell me what do I need to get the approve? Is there is some points that I must have it to get the approve done?

Each insurance company has different requirements. Most weight loss surgeons are familiar with the requirements each insurance company has. Have you been referred to a surgeon or gone to an information seminar? What city are you in?

I am in Puyallup and have a surgery date of January 7th. Surgery will be through Franciscan in Federal Way. I have my pre-op nurses appt. on Nov 24. I had hoped to have my surgery before the holidays but when it came down to scheduling a date I opted to not be recovering at Christmas but to be able to chase after my Granddaughter who will be 9 months old Christmas Day. I know the holidays will zip by and surgery is just around the corner. Sooo excited!!

We are neighbors!!! I'm in puyallup too! I'm going through swedish on 12/9!
That's great blkbell! I would love to know how things are going for you after your surgery. Yours is coming up quickly. Maybe we could keep in contact. Do you have a lot of support?
We should keep in contact! We can do it here or on Facebook for now- whatever you are comfortable with. We can private message if we want to share info. My name is Jaimie. I have one friend who did VSG at st Francis about 3 years ago with Dr Shrikanth (not sure how to spell) She did well and lost almost 200 lbs. I also have a coworker who just had surgery on 11/11. She's doing great too and said it was much easier than she thought! Other than them my parents, husband and best friend are my support people who haven't had surgery. I can't wait to have mine! I have lost 63lbs during my 6 month nutrition and now I finally feel like all my hard work is leading to something. I have my preop appt Tuesday and I'm excited to learn more then. Nice to meet you!
Blkbell best wishes on your surgery tomorrow. Hoping all goes well & easy recovery. Let us know how you are doing.

Just got home. I have no issues with drinking and no pain in my stomach area at all. My gallbladder was taken out too and the pain in that area is awful since my stones doubled in size since my ultrasound. My surgeon said they were also double the size of the incisions so I'm expected a longer recovery only due to that. Honestly if it was the sleeve only I think I wouldn't have a single issue. I feel the gas but passing out both ends and hoping I get enough out before it migrated to my shoulder. Protein Shakes were started yesterday but I'm not hungry and they are too sweet now for me. Getting in clear fluids easily since my mouth is so dry.

Glad all went well. Sorry to hear about the gallbladder. Im sure its such a relief though to finally have the surgery. So congrats on that. :) i have gallstones as well and I'm hoping my surgeon will just remove the stones only. Is your diet still the same with the gallbladder removal?

I don't think they just remove stones but they have to remove the whole thing. Better I think to get it all out now since you are risking more stones forming from the rapid weight loss. My diet is still the same. My surgeon said that the liquid diet the first two weeks will keep my gb area from acting up so it's actually better. She did warn me that diarrhea is more common with the gb being out. I'm fine with that- rather have that then constipation! So far no bowel movement yet though. I'm sure it's because I was all cleaned out before surgery and I'm not doing as much Protein as I should yet since its so tough to drink it when I feel full.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
