What have you tried?

How far out are you?

Bottom line is you have to eat and drink. If you do not you will get sick and may end up in the hospital. It will effect your weight loss and your healing.

I recommend premier pre-made Protein Drinks but add ice and some extra Water and blend. The Protein drinks are easier to stomach when they're not so thick and sweet. Hope this helps!

This is my first week out. My surgery was Friday. So I am on all liquids.

We all understand. We know that it's not that much fun at the point you are at.

You don't have much say so in things, though. You must drink your shakes and your Water........or else we are going to come by your house and sit on you.

You don't have a choice in the matter. Small swallows.....over and over again......even though you aren't hungry.....you've got to have the required nutrition.

There are many, many Protein shakes on the market. I only had 4 choices in my plan but I had to go beyond that to find some damn variety (but had similar macros to the approved drinks). Try some different flavors and brands.

I'd feel like an elephant sitting on you right now. You'd better get to sipping.................. :P

My surgery was Friday also. I'm basically constantly sipping either a Premier shake or a bottle of Water. I'm just having to force myself, as I'm afraid of getting dehydrated. We can do this... Contact me if you need to, we're at exactly the same point in our journey.

I'm in the same boat mine was on Tuesday and I can drink but the Protein just won't go down. The mere thought makes me dry heave. Maybe the ol' plug your nose and drink from a shot glass will help.

They're all so awful. Premiere mainly.

Have you tried the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates and ProtiDiet Soups. Those along with the premier Protein really helped me get in my Protein during my liquid phase. Get some sonic ice and put the liquid concentrates over a little bit of ice and eat it with a spoon. sugar-free Popsicles also helped me get my fluids.

As others have mentioned. You just have to do it whether you feel like it or not.

It does get better.

I'm a week out today. I have been getting my Water in just fine but the Protein Shakes feel like a brick sitting in my stomach. I'm getting at least one in per day anyway. I mix unflavored Protein Powder with my Soups and broths to make up for the rest. I still use a 1 oz medicine cup to drink my water. I don't feel as overwhelmed by a huge bottle that way. I know it's hard but you have to find ways to get your liquids and Protein in.

All of this. And trust me you don't wan to end up sick and back in the hospital at all. Its gonna make your progress that much slower to achieve.

@@megieg @@destinedtofindher - Keep trying different brands and types. I hated premier Protein yet it is really popular. As @@BamaNurse mentioned unflavored powder mixed in Soup or broth was a lifesaver for me. If milk based doesn't work for you try something like the clear drinks. I like Isopure, other prefer Syntrax Nectars. Keep trying and no matter what you do, keep sipping Water. It gets better and easier as you heal, but you don't want to get dehydrated.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
