Wondering how all the 11/9's are doing???

I think I'm doing ok. Having difficulty getting everything I need down, yet I have my appetite back already. I'm only taking painkillers occasionally, and if I'm careful I can sleep on my side or stomach at night, and experience no discomfort until I try to change positions. I'm getting some pain of gas trapped in my stomach when I eat. Burping eases that. The omeprazole seems to help a lot. I woke up with heartburn last night and had to take it to help.

It feels like I haven't had anything done. I feel no restriction on the liquids, which my doc says is normal, and won't be felt until I start solid foods. I miss eggs.

I was supposed to do a full week in Clear Liquids, but I have had a couple of Protein Shakes and some yummy Tomato Soup. The Protein is not my sleeve's friend yet. Lots of broth and room temp Water.

My surgery was Nov 9th in Omaha, NE. Things have been going fairly well. My pain has skyrocketed in the last 2 days though. I am also sweating profusely everytime I sleep. Is that normal? I'm trying very hard to get my protien and clear liquids in. Popcicles are my friend every time I have to take pain meds. Anyone else experiencing these things? And my tummy is super bruised on my left side. Icing it to try lower the swelling.

I would definitely call your surgeon. May just be several things happening, better safe than sorry. Praying for you!! Keep in touch!!

I don't have anything in my paperwork. Seen several things on the forums. The pain meds work against you in that Dept. :( I would call ask because some of the laxatives etc are hard on your stomach. I think the Protein Shake had the opposite reaction on me. :/ But IDK...

My doc said no less than every 3 days. Pain killers will mess with that, so I only take those if I really need them. Take sugar free milk of magnesia to help. I didn't have a bm for a few days after surgery. The MoM broke the seal.

  • @queencity, where are you having surgery? Who is your surgeon? My surgery is 11/09 at CMC--Mercy with Dr Kuwada from Carolina Weight Management.
I am here in Charlotte, my surgeon is dr. Vollianger ( southeast bariatrics) with novant health. What time is your surgery? Mine is at 10 am?

How did your surgery go with Dr. Voellinger? He is doing my surgery Monday the 14th at Presbyterian Medical Center.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
