Surgery is tomorrow at 10:45am. I am packed. I am ready. Husband is taking me there tomorrow and taking the week off to help me. He is the only one I have told that I am having this surgery. I am so thankful for his support. I am nervous but I am mostly EXCITED!!! This time tomorrow I hope to be resting up from surgery and looking forward to new beginnings.

Getting ready to go. Took a shower. Weighed myself. They will not do the surgery if you are not at or below goal weight I am three lbs under. Not sure why I was so worried i have been trying hard. Got the patch behind my ear. All packed got the copayment toothbrush deodorant and a bundle of nerves I'm so excited. Three hours and it's on. Heading out the door.

Good luck!! Don't forget to take some "before" photos. You'll want those to compare as the weight comes off.

What an exciting day!! Congrats on your big day!

my husband and my kids and mother in law are the only ones I've told. There seems to be mixed feelings about sharing.

Do you mean at or below starting weight?

I survived my surgery. The gas bubbles aren't so fun and I've had some nausea. But day 2 was better than day 1. Moving around better all the time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
