Be healthier.

Wear normal clothes... Not "toe sacks ". as my husband says. I don't even know what that is other than oversized tops that don't cling.

Just to be comfortable being me.

I want to like me!

Well I'm blessed not to have any pain, I can cross my legs, so forth and so on.

I was denied however 2 rides at cedar point due to the lap belt not fitting. Quite embarrassing especially in front of my kids.

I dress well but... I'm looking forward to not having to shop in the plus size section.

Wearing the size 8 shoe that I was accustomed to before the weight gain put me into a 10.

The 20 year class reunion cruise I'm booked for in May 2017. I'm 36. Most people who don't know me think I'm late 20's early 30s. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I'm hoping to de-AGE by at least 10 years.

Not feeling so insecure in pictures. I will do a photo shoot once I reach goal weight.

I could go on and on but those are a few on the top of my list.

I'm looking forward to being able to buckle my seat belt in my car.

Being a better mom to my son.

Going to the movies with my spouse and being comfortable.

Buying pretty clothes.

I want to buy a corset without having to spend the extra $100 to have is sized up.

To go shopping for my wedding dress without having to settle.

Joining an adult softball team.

Horse back riding.

And soooo much more.

I look forward to alleviating my low back pain! Also, I want to feel comfortable going out in public with my friends and not feel like outsiders see me as the "fat girl" who hangs out with the pretty girls.

I'm looking forward to being able to walk into just about any store and know they have something for me. As opposed to asking if they have a plus size section or going to specialty stores.

Also, I'm looking forward to one day having another baby and during my pregnancy people not asking if I'm carrying twins or assuming I'm further along then I am. By the time I was 5-6 months pregnant with my son, people would ask me when I was due and when I would say in 3 months, they would ask me if I was sure (yes I'm pretty sure of my due date) or just look totally shocked.

Being able to live an active lifestyle and do hobbies people my age enjoy like white Water rafting or Water skiing!

Being able to show my dog in conformation classes without feeling like it's a major cardio workout

Being able to shop in stores for young adults like Am Eagle and having the clothes actually FIT!

Being able to look at an outfit I think is cute and know there'll be a size on the rack that will fit me instead of just having to settle for something that's my size even if I don't like it.

Losing weight in my arms so they fit normal sleeves again

Being able to go through the gates we have up for the dog for when she's wet from the lake without having to turn sideways/ shift my hips.

Being able to stand and walk a distance without having pain and out of breath-ness

Being able to say I want a thin and healthy significant other in my life without feeling like a hypocrite (and being able to attract one because I'm also thin and fit!)

Being able to have pictures taken of me that I won't be embarrassed of for the first time since I was in grade school.

Being able to change my attitude and mind about a lot of foods (it's already happening. Tried brown rice and kale the other day and it was delish. I never liked either before)

Having enough energy to be able to come home from work and cook real meals and take care of a home and pursue hobbies instead of just having to flop on the couch.

To not be tired out by the smallest physical efforts.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
