Ps I'm 5 weeks today.

THAT'S the reason why. You're still recovering. I didn't even feel human until about 6 weeks out.

Make sure you're eating enough, drinking enough, and getting your Protein. Makes all the difference. It DOES get better. I promise.

I'm around 3 1/2 weeks out from surgery and I have been feeling good since around day 5.

Are you getting in enough Protein? I found that my energy returned once I was able to add more calories to my diet. I had to get up to 500 a day before I had enough energy to last all day.

Hope that you feel better soon.

I remember in the beginning it felt like work to just blow dry my hair. I knew at that point how crucial it was to get my Protein in. Try increasing your protein. It will give you the natural energy that you need. And it will get easier as the weeks go on. You just had major surgery, so your body is in panic mode right now. Let it recover!

I felt pretty crappy (although it got better and better) until about 12 weeks post op. I would say your experience is pretty normal.

Now, 4 years later and 150# lighter - yeah, I feel a lot better!

I felt like complete crap up until I was able to eat solid foods and start to actually get enough calories in to sustain me. Make sure you are getting all your Water and Protein at a bare minimum, but also work on upping your calories as soon as you can. Once I was getting closer to 800 calories a day, I started to not just feel like a giant slug.

I felt like that too. Heck I didn't even wear pants for the first three weeks because the waistband irritated my incisions. I couldn't drive for three weeks because it made me very car sick.

I just made sure I focused on me during that time. I rested and napped when my body needed it and focused on staying hydrated.

It does get better. Hang in there you can do this. This time next year it will be a distant memory as you will be so much thinner, healthier, and energetic!!

Good luck

Haha. I'm picturing you sitting around the house during the first few weeks with no pants on....

Hell, I'm 14 months out and I STILL don't wear pants sometimes! :P

I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and I do pretty good until around 4:00 then I seem to crash. I think I could honestly go to bed at 6:30 some nights. The Protein really does help but I agree I am looking forward to the months ahead.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
