Has anybody fainted ?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone I am 10months post op . So yesterday I fainted . Completely fell back all of a sudden and lost consciousness for about 10 seconds ???? I was so scared. I have been taking Iron bc I was a little anemic in last labs done about 3 months ago. I was wondering if anybody has had the same issue ? I already had lab work today so I will get results this afternoon.

I haven't fainted but I have had a few dizzy moments. My blood pressure is coming down with the weight loss and my PCP is playing catch up with what dose to take as I lose. It typically happens when I bend over or when I have been sitting and stand.

Hoping your labs are great but help as to what is happening!

About six months out I had the flu, just totally flushed out from both ends. I passed out as I was leaving the bathroom, hit my head on the edge of the tub, and was out for about and hour. When I came to, I stood up and passed out again, hit my head on the tub again and stayed out for about an hour and a half. When I came to the second time, I made it to the bed and fell asleep before I could call an ambulance.

I called my doctor the next morning and spent the next day and night in an observation room at the hospital, on a IV to replenish fluids. Since then, I had to get a Life Alert monitor and a Fall Detector.

This has been me lately. The last two weekends while at the park working with my Girl Scout troop when standing up after squaring or bending over I've had to stabilize myself. I was so dizzy that I almost collapsed on a few occasions. I even showed my daughter how to bypass the lock on my phone to call 911 if needed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
