Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

I can't wait to.....

Recommended Posts

Sadly, I cannot wait for the judged looks I get from people to stop. I went into GNC the other day, and the sales associate flat out said: "You aren't like any of our normal customers. Are you getting weight loss surgery done soon?". I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, since I am going through the process, but it's kind of unsettling/embarrassing when there is a store full of people.

That's absolutely revolting that they thought they had the right to say that to you, what give them the right to belittle you like that. :hugs:

I live in Hawaii, and there are people who are very large individuals. So it surprises me that there is still the judged looks or fat shaming.

My mom was at the GNC with me and she said she thought it was more of a "Oh, you're in here because you're making a change"... Rather than an insult. I think it's more that I am used to or rather expect the negativity

I got another though: I can't wait to actually LIVE in Hawaii - hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.)

I can't wait until I am not in pain. I have RA and Fibromyalgia and my entire body feels like it's in a FLARE all the time. I can't wait to play with my 4yr and 11 mo old boys in the floor longer than 10-15 minutes without being in excruciating pain. I can't wait to enjoy hiking and biking trails with my husband. I can't wait to be HEALTHY! I can't wait to look how I see myself through my eyes. I look forward to MY JOURNEY of loving myself!

Leggings and boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going on a 2 week vacation to Disney/Universal/Cruise to Bahamas for my 25th anniversary in April. I cant wait to buy new clothes for that trip!

Of course, I am looking forward to better health, less pain, longer life, etc, but it's the clothes and shoes and swimsuits that have me excited!

To be able to have the stamina to jump my horse again! Not get out of breath (thinking I'm having a heart attack!) and blotchy faced one time around the arena....And fit in my beautiful riding boots, not the ugly elastic plus sized ones I use now. ...And look cute in my riding breeches!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
