I sent you a message :) You came home after only 1 night in the hospital too?! How are you doing these days? Still on puree or on to soft foods?

Merry Christmas ladies! I'm Ashley and I had my RNY done on 12/21. I went home the next day and since then it's just been lots of sips and walking lol. If there's a FB group id definitely be interested in that. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I did come home after one day. I will be on full liquids until January 6th and then I think I move to soft foods. But I'll clarify that with the dr/nut at that appointment. Looking through all the threads it's interesting to see how different all the places are. I started to get worried because I'm not doing anything with Protein but nope my focus these first few weeks is just supposed to be getting in the fluids.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Two week followup went really well. I lost 15 pounds in a week. (I had been into the office a week earlier over a pain issue) I can't even fathom that. It blows my mind. I keep wondering what I've done to myself and why and that visit helped a ton in reminding me why.

Can't stop now. Gotta keep losing. :)

I got my surgery on the 29th, and it looks like I'll be going home tomorrow. The doctors are very focused on me getting all my liquids in. I can already do puree stage, but I'm not doing that yet. Just Water and Protein Shakes for this gal.

Holy moly already to puréed? I don't blame you for not trying it yet. I know every doctor is different though.

I was on pureed straight out the hospital. I did as I was told and tolerated it well.

Shame my pureed chicken tasted like cat food so I ended up doing some sort of soft food/liquid hybrid.

Hi, surgery date was December 29, 2015.

Pre diet was brutal, had a sinus infection so antibiotics kicked my butt, lost 16 lbs before surgery. So good to be on the site to see how others are progressing and what issues and good things are happening. Love to hear from you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
