I have had my band since April 15, 2015. I am down 30-31 lbs. I had my 3rd fill on August 20, 2015. I have lost some weight but I still feel like I can eat anything I want. I have a total of 4.25cc, with my last fill being 0.25cc. My doctor said for me to come back in 1 year unless I am having a problem. I am feeling like that is too long and I am not losing the weight that I thought I would lose by now. Another person who had the same surgery (lapband) and same surgeon on the same day has lost more weight ...44 lbs and he told her to return in 8 weeks. Why is that? I am frustrated. 8 weeks and 1 year is a huge difference. What to do? I considered switching doctors altogether...

First, congratulations on the loss!

I've only had one fill (banded Aug 4) but I have 6 cc in my band. I know I'm not in the green zone but I am thrilled with the small amount of food I can eat.

I would make an appt and explain that you are still hungry and not feeling restriction.

Personally, I would not wait a year.

Hopefully, in a few months you will know what you can tolerate... And you can certainly ask for a small fill

And repeat when you feel it is necessary. You can take some charge of your band and fills...

The only veteran advice I will share is please be careful to not overfill your band... That seems to cause many issues on this board....

You can do this!

Please keep us updated and best of luck⭐️

Wait a month and then book another fill. A year is too long, but after this fill take another month off so you can really get a full understanding of how your bands fill level effects you throughout the month because time does make a difference as your hormones change over the span off a month. Moving too fast removes the relationship from the band. And I can't stress how important maintaining that relationship is for positive weight loss

My Dr. was very aggressive....he has the "Yellow-Green-Red" poster on the wall. And he made no doubt that post op, getting me in that "Green" was the next step following surgery.

I saw him every 4 weeks after surgery, and he would ask me to show him on that chart EXACTLY where I felt I was...then after a few questions, my weight compared to the last visit, he would either give me a fill or not.

It took 3 visits with 3 good fills to get me in that Grenn Zone....(then about 8 months of getting used to it) and I have been there every since. And that was almost 5 years ago.

You would think a Dr. would want what;'s best for his patients, and that He/She would want to see their patients succeed...making their outcomes positive.

I definitely agree with you. I like him but this has nothing to do with me liking him or not. I just want to get the results that I hoped for when I decided to have the lap band. And someone that is agressive.

Also I weighed Sunday and no change in my weight. Very frustrating . I watch what I eat and track it.

Do not wait a year I had my band with true results and they have me coming in once a month because after every 10 pounds you need a full because your stomach has gotten smaller

Well I made an appointment , turns out my doctor made a mistake. I was suppose to return in 6 weeks not 12 months . I had another fill in October. I return in January. Hopefully by then I will be under 190 lbs.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
