Wait, I stocked up on premier shakes. I thought that was my go-to drink for right after surgery. That and Water. Am I wrong?

Quick update. It's been one week since my rny bypass. I *was* diabetic. My blood sugar is now completely normal, and I've been off medication since 2 days before my surgery. This was my primary goal. I'm overjoyed, to say the least! So is my primary doctor!

I've been doing my premier shakes since I came home. Hard to get them down, but I'm chugging along!

my post op plan calls for one shake per day, sipping throughout the day but it doesn't count as a meal. I will have 5 1-2 oz meals of full liquids throughout the day. I mostly bought my cases of Premier Protein for my pre op diet, but I can save them and use them in the future as well.

@@edie091371 I've have my gall bladder and appendix removed previously and didn't have the gas issue related with abdomen surgery so I'm hoping my good luck continues. It's good to see that everyone's surgeries are going well.

Just wanted to to share a product I found. It's Protein Water called Protein2O!!! 16.9oz, 15g protein per bottle, 70 calories. It's amazeballs!!! My favorite it berry Splash, then Grape Splash, then the Lemon Splash. You can kinda taste the protein in the lemon, but it's not undrinkable. I found them at my local grocery store Kroger's, but you can also find them at Walmart and Vitamin World.

Well everyone I am seriously hoping that today will be the day I get to go home from the hospital. All my tests have come back looking good so hopefully I will be released. I am actually feeling pretty good today and the pain is definitely abating. I hope you are all doing great.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
